Happy Friday! I pray you are having a great week!  I wanted to share a few non-negotiables when it comes to growing your money.  The first thing is you always want to track your dollars. If you're  uncertain about what's going out  then how can you ever control what stays in.  Basically knowing your numbers will allow you to grow your numbers. This next thing I know I've said a lot on the blog and it's very simple however when you look at statistics a lot of people miss this one.  You have to pay yourself first!  As I mentioned in this blog post here habits are so important. Therefore, when it comes to paying yourself first initially the dollar amount doesn't matter it's just about creating a consistent habit of saving money. However eventually you should obtain your  Financial Independence number(FIN) and start putting the proper percentage away in order to achieve that number.

Another idea is to have money buckets.   When I say money buckets I mean a bucket for emergencies, bucket to pay bills, a bucket to splurge, bucket for vacation  and an overflow bucket etc... When money is unassigned it becomes dangerous and at risk of being spent.  Basically I've found that buckets give your dollars purpose and direction and space to grow.

The last two things are internal. You always want to think with the end in mind.  Most people do what feels good now and pay for those emotions later. However when on the path to financial freedom you have to do the right things now so you can enjoy life later. Last, always maintain an attitude of gratitude. Gratitude is that inner strength that will propel you to keep going and to keep growing.

As always thank you for stopping by and I pray these tips can be useful. Have a blessed rest of the week.

  1. A great post for Financial Friday and thanks for sharing it. It's important to pay yourself first if you're a business owner that's for sure!

    1. I agree Laura. As business owners we are responsible for funding our own savings. I hope that you have a great weekend!

  2. You look gorgeous girl!! Have a great weekend.

  3. Love the blazer and dress together, such a classy look! :)

Good tips about having different buckets for money too! I've been trying to set aside money so I can have some to spend on fun purchases and not dip into any other money for it! :)

Hope you are having a lovely weekend! We are getting our family Santa photo done tomorrow, gotta get a move on with my Christmas cards, haha! :)
