Happy new day! This is one of my go to looks outside of my love for dresses and skirts:) I love restyling my pieces to create different looks like in this blog post here. God has given me a passion and gift in helping others to achieve their financial goals and dreams. Therefore, one of many practical ways to become financial savvy is with your wardrobe. Now, if my mission was just fashion and not fashion and finances then I would always be displaying new items and the latest trends. However, showing how I invest in quality, classic, and classy pieces of clothing that can work for your everyday life style is more in line with my mission.
This button down shirt can be paired many ways depending on the occasion. However, in this look I dressed it up for a lunch date with a friend. There are so many variations of the white button down but sticking to a simple one gives more options. I wanted to add a special touch to the shirt so I rolled up the sleeves and tucked it in. Now, it doesn't look like I took it off a rack and just put it on:) As for the jeans, I went with a high rise ankle flare. Of course, any type of denim jeans would work. I just like my jeans to hit at my ankle to display my heels. I have had this handbag for many years. I love to grab it when I need visual interest and a perfect pop of color. Overall, a white shirt and denim can be used as a base outfit for everyday styles and played up or down depending on how it's accessorized.
As the weather warms up, I will trade out the long sleeve shirt for a simple cami or tee. As always, thank you for reading and have a blessed day!

Happy Friday! I pray you're having a wonderful week! I remember at a very young age having to take naps. Most times I was not sleepy; however, it was still considered quiet time. There was no talking, playing, or any sort of noise for at least a hour or so. I really didn't understand the value in quiet time at that age and how it played a role in shaping my life.
As I got older, there was no time for quiet time. Well , I guess there was time I just didn't see the importance in doing it. Until a point in my life where I knew I urgently needed and desired clarity and purpose. Therefore I had to go back to the basics and implement quiet time into my life. I'm so grateful that now quiet time is an intentional and a permanent part of my life. It's a special time to spend with God. I always leave my quiet time better than the way I entered. ...with a fresh perspective on God's plan and purpose for my life.
It is so helpful to have a space dedicated just for quiet time. It doesn't matter where it is. It just needs to be a space that is disconnected from everything so you are able to connect to all things.
As mentioned here, journaling your thoughts is an important step in decluttering your thought life. It connects you to your thoughts on a deeper level. It is equally important to journal during quiet time. What you write down can we used to hold you accountable to your actions outside of your quiet space.
Whatever has your ear has your destiny. Therefore it is imperative to have quiet time to make sure you are hearing and focusing on what's important in life. The loudest voice in your ear should be the voice of truth which can be heard when you focus on it in silence. The greatest success book written ever says only focus on those things that are good, noble, and praiseworthy. That is what quiet time allowed me to do as a child and even today! Remember whatever you focus on or give attention to will grow.
Thank you for reading and have a blessed weekend!!

Happy new day! This Polo Ralph Lauren white blazer is on repeat again! I am trying to get the most wears before the hot weather arrives. My favorite ways to wear it is paired with a skirt or my spring dresses. I wanted to add some daytime sparkle for my date day so these heels were perfect. I plan to wear these shoes next month to a friend's wedding. However, I'm pretty sure I'll wear them a lot before then. I don't believe in saving my items just to wear for one moment. That future moment may never come and life is too short. Therefore, I try to enjoy the things I am blessed with now and most importantly have joy while doing it!
Have a beautiful day and thank you for reading!

Happy New day! I am so super excited for every new day. Everyday is a great day to go after whatever God has placed in your heart to do. However, to make everyday your best day it takes a desire and a decision to do it. Remember you are only one decision way from changing your day! When the decision is made life looks different but that's a wonderful thing to embrace. Our differences is what unites us to do something incredible!
In order to do something incredible it takes a winning attitude. A winning attitude is motivated from within and always inspired to win. Now, will everyday be easy. No!! ..but a person with a winning attitude understands that they can't control what happens each day but they can control how they respond to it in the most positive way.
In order to do something incredible it takes a winning environment. A winning attitude is the fastest way to create and attract winning environments. A winning environment pushes you to do better because you are better than where you currently are. If your current environment does not challenge you then you will never grow to reach the full potential of what is inside of you.
Last, to do something incredible you have to do something incredible. No one can do it for you! If God gave you the vision then he will provide the provisions! Regardless of your circumstances, never give up and in faith keep making the right moves!
As always, thank you for reading! Have a blessed day!

Happy Thursday! I hope you are having a beautiful week! I mentioned last year that I wanted to take a minimalist approach to my life. I feel the process on how you get to a minimalist life is determined by the individual. Basically you define what minimalism means for your life. In my opinion, there's no right or wrong way to do it. However, I do believe the overall goal for those that desire a minimalist life is the same which is to be surrounded with things you truly need and love.
Once the the decision was made to apply minimalism into my life the process seemed somewhat overwhelming. However, I tackled it like I tackle most issues in life step-by-step and day-by-day. Therefore, I started in small areas of my life. I created a happy and stylish closet as mentioned here. I can definitely say that process was so freeing. I am more intentional now when it comes to my shopping and what items I add to my current wardrobe. It also saves me money because I have a plan and purpose in how I spend on clothing. Most importantly it allows me to savor one of our greatest gifts which is time. No more wasting time getting dressed because everything has been curated to fit my personal style philosophy.
Remember we live in the world that tells us, you can only get more out of having more. The danger in this develops when the more is being consumed without a purpose. Therefore it leads to spaces filled with unused stuff. My experience with minimalism has been complete opposite. It is a joyful experience that teaches you how to embrace less and still live life at your very best.
As always thank you for reading and have a blessed day!

Happy Friday! I hope you are having a beautiful week! A happy life is a fully engaged life. When you give all you are given all! When you are only halfway in then life seems to respond back in a very limited way. As for me, my desire has been to be all in and have God supreme in all areas of my life. When God is supreme then you know love and you are willing to share genuine love to others. It is not always easy to love especially when it seems undeserving but it is imperative. There are so many moving parts to being fully engaged in anything you are seeking in life. I just wanted to mention a few:
An attitude of the upmost gratitude will propel you to keep moving forward. I just believe you have to appreciate where you currently are to make the journey of where you are going. In times of struggles gratitude can be difficult but it is definitely imperative as well. The greatest success book written ever says, " consider it pure joy when you experience trials." It is written and confirmed that all things work out for our good so why not maintain an attitude of gratitude at all times.
I once read we have thousands of thoughts that ramble through our mind daily. That means we have to focus to bring light to the most important ones that help us live out our purpose. As mentioned in this post here you have to be focused in order to overcome the negative things that may distract you on your journey to becoming fully engaged.
The journey towards a fully engaged life requires that you take action. The world around us responds when we step into our purpose and live out the vision for our lives fully. When you do not take action then fear grows stronger than faith. Every step may not be easy but it is worth it. When you take action it builds your desire to go and grow... and it starves the things like fear you desire to not have anymore.
As always, thank you so much for reading. Have a blessed day!!

Happy Wednesday! I hope you are having a great week! Leather has a bit of edge which is opposite of my personal style. Therefore, by layering with a lace top it created a more feminine and classy look.
Leather and lace can definitely stand alone. However, I adore the fact that when implemented together it creates an attractive chic look.

Happy Saturday! I hope you're having a wonderful week. Last month's blog post here was on spring cleaning your finances. If you followed that post then by now you've determined if your income is enough and maybe you're just living a little above your means. Maybe you've determined that it is not enough and found ways to increase your income. Either way, you have started the process towards appreciating what you have until you get what you want.
Today I just wanted to spend some time on the next step of evaluating your expenses. When you take time to evaluate your expenses you truly find out if the things you're spending money on are necessary or unnecessary. When you evaluate your expenses you have to track every single dollar that you spend. This may seem tedious or unnecessary however it is very important to see where all the money is going. Remember the flow of money is just energy and you have to direct that energy in the direction you want it to go and grow. It is helpful if you ask yourself certain questions during this process. Is this expense worth it? Can I reduce the cost of this expense? For example, if you know you consume a lot of a particular item each month then try buying in bulk. This will save not only money but most importantly it will save time.
A great starting point to this process is to look back at your spending habits for the past 2 or 3 months. This will consciously allow you to make better decisions going forward. Remember this process is not to restrict you it's actually the complete opposite. It is to free you, so you won't be enslaved to debt or situations because of spending habits.
Good luck with your tracking and thank you as always for reading. Have a blessed rest of the week!

Happy Wednesday! I pray you're having a wonderful week. Last week was about the White blazer. Now, I am dashing forward with my white shirt. Nothing says spring like a crisp white button down shirt. It is a very versatile piece of clothing and can be worn season to season. It's also very classic and classy! I'm wearing it with my all time favorite black pencil skirt. I feel by going dark on the bottom it brightens the white shirt even more!
The white button down shirt is so special. It can be worn as a layering piece with a suit or blazer for a professionally polished look. In a more casual setting, it can be paired with pants or a skirt without feeling too overdressed. Last, but definitely not least you can go all out glam like I did. I layered with my pearls and my forever gold pieces of jewelry. I also added my gold heels to complete this amazing date day glam look!
As always, thank you for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Happy April! I pray that you had a blessed March! When you start a new year it is very easy to get distracted and forget about the goals and dreams you have set for your life. That is why being accountable and allowing others to hold you accountable is an important factor in getting the job done! The easiest way for me to hold myself accountable is by having a reward and punishment system. Well, the reward is very easy to do. However, if I fail to meet expectations then there must be consequences. In most cases, if there are no consequences then wherever you fall in life will be fine. Basically, due to lack of expectations and discipline.
In 2018 I desire to grow more spiritually than ever. It is not about just head knowledge for me it is also about heart knowledge. I want to lead in all areas of my life with the spirit of love, peace and joy that is within me. This is why the past 8 years I committed to an in depth daily bible study. Therefore, in 2018 I have not missed one bible study class or daily assignment. Most importantly I am seeking ways each day on how to apply the knowledge to help others. I guess I could reward myself with my quarter end results, but I feel I am already rewarded by being reconciled to God.
I also committed to becoming fluent in Spanish this year. I have been studying daily but I am not quite there yet. I would say I'm about 60-70 % fluent. No reward here just consequences for me. I will be replacing some of my down time with extra study time so I can get on pace to becoming fluent in Spanish.
I wanted to start over my $500 challenge this year. This is my third year doing it. You can read more about this challenge here. I have not decided what I will be be doing with everything I accumulate during this challenge in 2018. As of now, I have $1,000 invested in the challenge and my goal is to earn an additional $3000 this current quarter. Therefore, I plan to again use my extra time to get creative and find additional income to put towards this project.
Wow, and I have a few more areas I'm pursuing growth in. However, this post is long enough:) As always, thank you for reading and have a blessed new week!!
