SPRING CLEANING FINANCES: PART 2
Happy Saturday! I hope you're having a wonderful week. Last month's blog post here was on spring cleaning your finances. If you followed that post then by now you've determined if your income is enough and maybe you're just living a little above your means. Maybe you've determined that it is not enough and found ways to increase your income. Either way, you have started the process towards appreciating what you have until you get what you want.
Today I just wanted to spend some time on the next step of evaluating your expenses. When you take time to evaluate your expenses you truly find out if the things you're spending money on are necessary or unnecessary. When you evaluate your expenses you have to track every single dollar that you spend. This may seem tedious or unnecessary however it is very important to see where all the money is going. Remember the flow of money is just energy and you have to direct that energy in the direction you want it to go and grow. It is helpful if you ask yourself certain questions during this process. Is this expense worth it? Can I reduce the cost of this expense? For example, if you know you consume a lot of a particular item each month then try buying in bulk. This will save not only money but most importantly it will save time.
A great starting point to this process is to look back at your spending habits for the past 2 or 3 months. This will consciously allow you to make better decisions going forward. Remember this process is not to restrict you it's actually the complete opposite. It is to free you, so you won't be enslaved to debt or situations because of spending habits.
Good luck with your tracking and thank you as always for reading. Have a blessed rest of the week!
