SMALL CAN LEAD TO BIG

Happy Wednesday! When I last organized my closet I found this dress and instantly knew it would be in my spring/summer wardrobe. I plan to transition it into my autumn wardrobe as well. I have mentioned this before but a simple task like organizing my closet saves me money. Most importantly it has given me back one of God's greatest gift which is more time. I no longer spend time worrying over what I will wear or how it fits. My closet is only filled with items I love and I actually wear. Honestly, it took some time to curate a wardrobe that fit my personal style philosophy. ...but it was worth the time and effort.

Furthermore, I desired changes in all areas of my life many years ago and God led me to get organized first. A small task like organizing not only decluttered my thoughts but it allowed space for areas I needed to grow in. As the greatest success book written says, " when you are faithful in the little things you will be faithful in larger ones." Therefore something this small as getting organized led to a huge impact on my thought life, my heart and my actions.

In closing, I had to believe in order to receive. I had to be willing to follow and see the process through which required trusting that God was ultimately in charge. I then had to manage any distractions that were trying to prevent me from getting organized. Finally, I had to implement steps that would be prevent me from returning back to a cluttered life where I was not in tune with God's plan and purpose for my life.

As always, thank you for reading and have a blessed rest of the week.

CAT EYE, STUDS & HAPPY VIBES

Happy Thursday!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!  Well I wanted to close this week the way I start every week on a happy and positive note. Therefore sharing a few happy tips:

1.  Never allow people or things to steal your joy. Don't focus on the things you lack in life. Instead focus on the abundance of things that you are currently blessed with. Basically have an attitude of gratitude at all times!

2.  Recognize your self-worth! Our decisions are made depending on how we feel about ourselves. Therefore,  it's imperative that you understand how special you are and that your life has a purpose. When you understand your purpose your life becomes much happier and fuller.

3.  Be careful of  the people that  you are around. Negativity is so contagious however on a better note being positive is contagious as well. Overcome negativity with positive thoughts and actions.

4.  Never tie your happiness to the promises of a future event happening. That will only disappoint you trying to delay your happiness until something in your life happens. If you are thinking " I will be happy when....." then that type of thinking never finds happiness. Happiness is " I am happy in this present moment." Remember happiness is all around you everyday you just have to choose to believe it!

5.   Do not compare yourself and your journey in life to anyone else's journey. It's too time consuming to worry about what others are doing and it will drain your happiness. Now, you must be happy for others and their success because that will protect your heart from any negative emotions. However  seek your own happiness through the journey you are purposely driven to take.

6 .  Last, make sure you are building your faith everyday. When your faith is strong you can rise above anything and most importantly you are better equipped to deal with life in the most positive and stress free way.

Thank you for reading and as always I appreciate your love and support! Have a blessed weekend!

GETTING MOTIVATED

Happy new day!  I pray you are having a wonderful week! There's so much that happens in a day that will try to steal your joy. In addition, the enemy is always looking for direct access into an unguarded part of our lives. A way to guard our lives is with motivation. For me, motivation involves moving with a purpose. ..and purpose comes only from God. In the greatest success book written ever it says, " I knew you even before I formed you in your mother's womb." Therefore, whether your life was planned or not by your parents, God planned it with a purpose. I have found a few simple ways to stay motivated.

Clarity

A clear goal is a clear path to success.  I remember leading a group many years ago. One day I asked everyone what did they want to accomplish before the end of the year. Honestly,  most of them could not answer that question clearly. I understood a few things in that moment. If only people knew what they truly wanted then maybe they had a shot at achieving it. I also understood that weak goals and desires would never produce strong results.

Write it out

If you are a consistent reader of my blog then you know I had to mention writing it out. Our chances of success are increased by writing things down. Those words have to be kept in front of your eyes and must be used to motivate and transform you. The same way we use the word of God to transform us in our daily lives.

Alternative

Last, but definitely not least is to consider the alternative. I mentioned on a previous blog post on eliminating excuses that basically staying motivated requires an alternative way of thinking. For example, if you don't go after your goal or purpose in life then how will life this same time next year look for you. This is not to create fear in yourself because we were not given a spirit of fear. It is the complete opposite! It is to motivate you to live a life of faith and with much purpose!

As always thank you for reading and I pray you have a wonderful day!

LEADERSHIP IS EVERYTHING

Happy Thursday!  I hope you're having a great week! I'm super excited about my next leadership conference.  Sometimes leadership is forced upon us and sometimes it is freely accepted.  Most people have been in a position to lead either at work, in their community, or in their family, etc.  Therefore,  understanding leadership is very important in order to lead successfully. I have always accepted the responsibility to lead  because I believe that's just part of God's plan and purpose for my life. I know that being a great leader requires that I am accountable, know when to seek wise counsel, and I must remain teachable.  I'm always looking for areas to grow my leadership. Therefore, when a leadership conference, podcast or book on leadership is available then I'm all in!!  I do believe all of those things are great when it comes to growing your leadership; however, I believe certain leadership attributes can never be taught. They must be caught!!   I feel everything about leadership cannot come from a speaker or book. It's natural and it must come from the heart.

For example, anytime I'm in the presence of people I always say happy monday, tues, wed, etc.  This is apart of my gift that God has given me. It is genuine and I use it to encourage others. I understand that it doesn't take a lot to encourage just a little effort. I encourage so much to the point I do not even think about it. It comes so natural and it flows from my heart. Basically leadership is about intuition which I don't feel can be taught.  I feel it is caught when you are  walking in your plan and purpose for your life.

I can write pages and pages on leadership. However, if I'm to sum it up I would say that leadership comes with responsibility. The responsibility to first and foremost lead yourself in thoughts and actions. ...then you are capable of leading those that follow your leadership and cause a positive chain reaction.

As always,  thank you so much for reading and I pray you have a wonderful rest of the week!

PLANNING IN ADVANCE

Happy Tuesday! I pray you are having a wonderful new week! We have not approached the summer season and it's already recording breaking high temperatures. I can not even process the idea of wearing cardigans or any heavy layering piece until the cooler months arrive. However, I  won't be able to avoid a layering piece because most restaurants or buildings are very cold. This is why it is so important to plan things out in advance so when you get to your destination you can be fully present and free from distractions.

In addition to my wardrobe, there are other things I have to plan for in advance. Basically, these are things that are important to me in life like my health, time with family, and my faith. Oh, and cooking a healthy meal everyday and keeping my spaces clutter free. ...the list goes on:) I desired years ago to grow in these areas so planning in advance was imperative. Now, I know I could have chosen to avoid planning in advance but why would I leave the things that mattered the most to me in life up to chance.

The starting point for preparing in advance is quiet time. I will not spend much time on this because I wrote a blog post on quiet time here last month. Overall, prayers involve doing a lot of talking to God but quiet time involves listening and meditating on specific instructions for your life. Next, after receiving those instructions I journal it out. I give so much importance to journaling because we can lose most of what we hear or think about so quickly. However, when you write it down it gives those words power and motivation for you to see it through.

Last, my environment plays a huge factor in planning in advance for success. The people  you choose to spend time with or not spend time with will shape the direction your life goes in. Sometimes we can have a tendency to avoid areas that make us uncomfortable. Basically we can avoid places where we are not the smartest person in the room:). However, what we do the least is often what we need the most! When you intentionally place yourself in uncomfortable environments it promotes and encourage growth from within. Remember if we are not growing then our goals and dreams are dying!

Thank you for stopping by! Have a blessed day!

ELIMINATE ALL EXCUSES

Happy new day! I pray you are having a phenomenal week!  I finished up my 8 months of in-depth Bible study course. It was so incredible to complete the journey with people of great faith and commitment. I've been doing this for the past 8 years; therefore, it has become a major part of my life.  The relationships that I've formed while doing it has been wonderful but honestly nothing supersedes the relationship that I've developed with God. The biggest contributor to helping me to complete this journey or any journey is eliminating all excuses. I have found out that excuses will prevent you from living the life you were designed to live.

The process of journaling as mentioned here has helped me to eliminate excuses. It has built my thought life to a level where it overrides an undeserving emotions that may arise. It replaces those emotions with thoughts of how I can do whatever God is leading me to do.

I also eliminate excuses by turning those reasons not to do something into reasons why I have to do it. For example, I used to say if I go after my goals then it will  take away time from my family. However, I reversed my thinking and said if I get the task completed with a sense of urgency then it will actually give me more time with my family. I really feel this is why God wants us to protect our thoughts because our thoughts have the ability to bring life or death to our situations.

Last, I think one of the most highly effective ways to eliminate all excuses is by taking action. Sometimes you can think so much until it paralyzes you. Therefore, nothing gets done except for a lot of thinking. This will prevent you from reaching your desired destination. When you take action, there is no longer room for any excuses only space for faith and endurance. Remember it takes the right head space to get into the game but it takes consistency, commitment and heart to win it!

As always, thank you for your support and have a blessed rest of the week.

REMAINING IN FAITH....

Happy Friday!  I pray you're having a wonderful week! The weather has been very hot this week reaching the mid-80s. I have no complaints,  I'm just grateful for each new day and the opportunity to live out God's plan and purpose for my life! We are almost halfway through the year and  according to statistics this is the time of the year where most people have given up on  their goals for the new year.  When you are not living out your purpose then you are vulnerable to live your life based on the expectations and standards of the world.  This lack of purpose can muster up all types of emotions and situations drawing you away from accomplishing  your desired end results.  I wanted to share some ways to remain in faith and live a purpose filled life.

Awareness

First, you must always be aware of your current situation. Therefore embracing the opportunity to look within yourself is very important. When you can evaluate the condition of your heart you become aware of the necessary steps to repair it. Remember a person will never solve a problem if they are not aware that a problem even exist.

Growth

Awareness leads to growth. This type of growth comes by building your faith daily. Some may say daily is too much but life happens every day. Therefore, being equipped to handle life is a growth process. The only way to prepare and grow is by building your faith and trusting God to lead the way.  In a practical way, reading, listening to motivational messages,  and journaling are excellent opportunities to grow yourself in faith.

Joy

Faith is a journey! ..and joy is the passenger needed to complete the journey. The journey is definitely not easy but your purpose makes it all worth it. When you do not have joy then whatever happens each day determines how you feel.  For example, if the day does not go well then you do not feel well either. However, when you have true joy you understand that the circumstance of today does not increase or decrease your life. Only God has the power to do that! Therefore, in all circumstances you will remain in love, peace, and joy!

As always thank you for reading! Have a blessed weekend!
