French Connection dress (current season here)

  Coach scarf & wallet

Tom Ford heels (similar for less Here)

Happy Sunday! I pray you had a beautiful week! I was a guest speaker at an event and I wore this little white dress. I am so glad I layered with a scarf because it was extremely cool inside of the building. I purchased this dress almost two years ago and it still gives me butterflies every time I wear it:) The quality is superb and the lace details adds a special eye catching touch to the overall look.  In terms of comfort it was an excellent choice to wear for the event.

My presentation was titled "getting comfortable with being uncomfortable." It is very uncomfortable to grow but growth is imperative to living out a life of purpose. Our comforts can sometimes be the very excuse that keeps us from living the life we were designed to live. Basically, being comfortable requires little efforts which produces small results.

Many years ago, it was so uncomfortable to admit that my spiritual life was not in order. As a result of comfort, I was often not prepared when presented with life changing opportunities. However, no regrets because God always has a plan and purpose for using the bad situations to create good. That uncomfortable state led me to take action towards living a life of purpose. Once I got comfortable with being uncomfortable God was clearly able to show me what I needed to do to daily to make a permanent positive change in all areas of my life. More importantly I can now share those steps and truths with others. Remember, God promises an abundant life but not without uncomfortable efforts.

As always, thank you for reading and have a blessed new week!

Happy Friday! I pray you had a wonderful week!  I  thought I had exhausted all the ways that I could wear this blue dress. I have layered it with blazers, shirts, and different types of accessories.  I thought there was no other way to style it then I got inspired to find another way. The result was this Blue on Blue with a dash of pink combination that I absolutely adore.

My fashion challenge is similar to what we all face when in difficult situations. In most unfortunate situations you may think that you have exhausted all the different ways to handle it. However, remember that there is hope and that hope lies in the positive choices you decide to make in your thoughts and actions. You just have to eliminate all excuses, get inspired and with faith you can make it happen! Remember, even when you can not see it just believe it because all things work out for the good of those that believe.

                                                             Blue dress
                                                             Blue satin heels

Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed rest of the week!

Happy Friday! I pray that you are having a wonderful week and a happy new day! Time is one of our greatest gifts. I feel that if most of us knew our death date we would place more value on our time. We may not know the exact date but we do know that we will not be here on earth always. Therefore, that fact alone has motivated me to honor and place value on my time. Therefore, I wanted to share  a few things that can possibly lead to devaluing your gift of time.

Not knowing your purpose! I know this a big one because you either have purpose or you are seeking it. I just challenge you to find it and constantly keep it in your heart and thoughts. Your time becomes devalued without a purpose.  Basically, you can fall victim to doing things for yourself or even for others that are not in line with your journey in life. Remember when you have purpose every moment counts!

Worrying about things you can not control! I have found out that worrying is just a trick of the enemy! My mission is always to do your best and give God the rest. That is all any of us can do along with learning and moving forward. When you devote your energy into worrying it devalues your time. Basically, time and energy that could have been spent in a more positive and purposeful way has been wasted. Mainly, because our thoughts can consume us or create greatness within us. Therefore, it is best to not worry about where you are but focus all your energy into where you desire to be. who wants to become a worry warrior:)

Last, life is not a race it is more about developing a steady pace. For example, when I read a new book I only read one chapter each day. I like to take notes and spend time reflecting on what I have read before moving to another chapter. That puts me into a position where I can implement what I have learned.  In addition, when I used to work a job I would tie all my happiness to Friday; therefore, I was missing so many days to experience true joy.. I was basically speeding through the first 5 days  for only 1-2 days of happiness. ...but joy is promised to us every single day! Therefore, racing through life in thoughts and actions can lead to devaluing your greatest gift of time!

As always, thank you for your love and support! Have a blessed rest of the week!

FINANCIAL FRIDAY: 2nd Quarter Close

Happy Friday!  I pray you are having a fabulous week!  Can you believe we are halfway through 2018 and less than 6 months away from Christmas? Not to mention a break away from another new year! Yes, wow! God is good! This is the time of the year most people lose sight of their financial goals and dreams. I think it could be due to the excitement of summer vacations, shopping fever, or an ungratified desire to just spend.

Great news! It's not too late,! Well it's never too late, but it definitely takes commitment and a sense of urgency to get back on target. Therefore if you're on target for hitting your 2018 financial goals then awesome! I encourage you to keep doing it  and I can't wait to see where you end up at the end of 2018. However, if you are not on track then this post will give you a fresh and fast start to achieving financial success.

First, I encourage you to eliminate comparison from your life. I know it is simple yet this world does not make it easy to eliminate it. Sometimes  you don't know that you are comparing yourself or journey to others. Maybe you're just thinking that you're looking. ...but if you're spending time looking at others then that means you're spending less time looking at yourself and seeking where God is trying to lead you. The Bible says ," do your own work well and then you will have something to be proud of. But don't compare yourself to others."  Basically comparing only robs you of the joy you are promised everyday. Focus on your journey and with faith you will be ok!

Next, live within your means. That sums up to being wise with your money and most importantly money choices. Remember, everyone has a different standard of living. Whatever level you're at just trust that you have enough and just use what you have as wisely as possible.  Even if what you have does not seem like a lot. The bible says, " unless you are faithful with smaller things you wont be faithful with larger ones." This is also why I just mentioned not comparing. When you compare it will lead you to compete. We all know competition can be expensive:)

I won't spend much time on this next step because I have written several posts about it. However, it is equally important to mention. Have a budget or spending plan that you are committed to daily. The key is to track your progress, make adjustments along the way, and remember every little step leads to something big!

Last, just be grateful. I also wrote about the tool of gratitude early this week. It's just amazing how having an everlasting attitude of gratitude changes the course of your day. The universe, in a supreme way, starts to reveal how to use what you have to get what you truly desire. I guess you can say it is the point where preparation meets opportunity for success.

Remember, it does not matter how you start but you must have desire and discipline to finish strong. ...along with faith and good work ethics! Thank you for reading and your support. Let's make this an incredible third quarter and I'll see you at the finish line. Have a blessed weekend!

Happy Thursday!  I wear my black pencil skirts a lot during the colder months. Therefore, it was equally important that I have a pencil skirt for summer months as well. I adore that pencil skirts are very versatile.

The color options are endless! I would suggest going with a neutral color especially if you are trying to maximize your wardrobe pieces.  When you have neutral colors you can create so many different looks and not even look like you are wearing the same skirt. A white skirt  really brightens and freshens up a summer wardrobe. A multi color pencil skirt works well also but the pairing options are a little more limited.

A high waisted skirt is a great option even if you are short. However, be careful not to purchase ones too high because they will make you look even shorter. The high waisted look is not for everyone but if you are small in the waist with larger hips it seems to flatter well. A lot of pencil skirts come with a split which may not be office appropriate. Therefore the regular style is a great option for work or play. Basically, it is just a matter of personal preference, environment and body type.

The fit is so important to achieving the right look. Sometimes it is not until you get an item home and try it on with different tops that you realize the fit is not working. I almost always factor in alterations costs into my wardrobe items. A little alteration will work wonders and achieve that smooth fit that a pencil skirt is famous for. It can also give a not so expensive garment a more luxe and high end look just by having it fit properly to the body.

The quality of a pencil skirt is important if you desire for that item to last longer and in some cases fit properly. When you pay more for the item it can be a pain but it is worth it if the item last longer which saves money and time. There are so many sales throughout the year so getting a good quality item does not have to cost a lot money. ...just preparation and patience!

Once you have achieved the right color, style, quality and fit a pencil skirt becomes a staple in your wardrobe that is timeless, classy and classic.

Thank you for reading and have a blessed rest of the week!

Happy new week and Happy new month! I pray that you had a wonderful weekend!  Life will never be at 100% because that would mean everything is perfect.  The enemy will try to use that small percentage of imperfections to occupy your thought life. However, guarding your heart, feeding your spirit and remaining grateful can override it. As mentioned last week always being grateful is simple but at times it may not be easy. Therefore, I would like to share a few things I found that will allow you to remain grateful in order to protect your heart and most importantly protect your life.

Speak it and believe it! There is something amazing that happens when you speak the things you are grateful for. Everything shifts from focusing on the lack of to focusing on the abundance of things you are blessed with! It is even more incredible when you create a daily gratitude journal and write out the things you are grateful for. Those words if you believe it will transform you and empower you with an attitude of gratitude.

Only look back for the lessons and look forward to the blessings.  God says, "do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Therefore, he has freed you so don't return to that problem or situation you were delivered from by constantly reliving the past.  That's just like walking through an open door of doubt when you should be knocking down the doors of faith.

Time is not a factor! Of course, we all lose time in unfortunate situations. However, if you are blessed to be living today then become more grateful for the time you have left. That time lost God promises to restore along with equipping you for the journey moving forward.

Remember, if you desire a life of gratitude then it takes intentional focus and faith.

As always, thank you for reading and have a blessed week!
